Innovative site elevations & 3-D Modeling
Project Scope
TAIT’s scope of work on this project was to create elevations for the construction of a new WinCo store in Moreno Valley, California, and provide the client with a convincing 3-D model of the project as needed to obtain design approvals. In this process, the elevations started as concept drawings on paper, and then transitioned to AutoCAD drawings, which lead to renderings in Photoshop. These elevations were then loaded into one of the newest and most powerful 3-D modeling software programs, SketchUp, to produce the final 3-D environment. Project occurred from July to October 2007.
Project Challenges
Always looking for the best technological solutions for their client, TAIT utilized the newest software version of SketchUp to produce the final renderings for the project. This involved learning some new skills in a fairly short timeframe. In developing 3-D models, it’s always a challenge to ensure that the model created matches the original AutoCAD drawings and the features created in Photoshop.
TAIT Solutions
TAIT introduced a faster, more cost-effective way (relative to other 3-D options) to showcase their projects in a highly realistic 3-D environment. Through their quick learning ability, they were able to deliver a fully-featured 3-D model of the WinCo-Moreno Valley store, complete with site elevations, to a very pleased client.
