Orange County, CA — TAIT & Associates, a national civil engineering, architecture, and development services firm, and Recupero & Associates, Inc., a land use, entitlement, and environmental consulting firm founded in 1973, announced today a strategic partnership to strengthen project delivery for public and private clients navigating increasingly complex regulatory environments.
The partnership brings together complementary strengths. TAIT provides multidisciplinary engineering and architectural services through a team of more than 200 professionals across multiple offices in the Western United States, while Recupero & Associates contributes more than five decades of experience in land use strategy, entitlement counseling, and environmental and stormwater compliance—expertise shaped by long-term work under the Clean Water Act, which continues to drive much of the modern development regulatory framework.
“This partnership reflects a natural alignment,” said Trevor Tait, CEO of TAIT. “Recupero & Associates brings decades of credibility, agency insight, and strategic entitlement leadership, strengthening our ability to guide projects through approvals with greater certainty.”
Founded in 1964 by Kenneth E. Tait, TAIT grew from an Orange County–based civil engineering practice into a national firm serving private development, public infrastructure, energy, and renewable markets, while maintaining a culture of technical excellence and adaptability.
Recupero & Associates was established in 1973 and has guided hundreds of developers, businesses, municipalities, and public agencies through complex land use and environmental approval processes throughout California.
“Partnering with TAIT gives our clients greater technical depth while preserving the senior-level strategy, agency coordination, and regulatory insight that define our work,” said Mike Recupero, President of Recupero & Associates.
The partnership does not involve an acquisition or change in ownership. Both firms will continue to operate independently while collaborating on projects that benefit from integrated engineering, architecture, land use strategy, and environmental compliance expertise. Together, TAIT and Recupero & Associates offer clients a more comprehensive team—combining scale and technical resources with seasoned leadership and regulatory counsel—to move complex projects forward efficiently and predictably.
