Position Description

We are looking to add a talented, team player to the group to help support the rapid growth of the department and company.

The Surveyor/ Mapper position will be a huge support to our survey team. This position will be expected to interpret surveys, maps and other items as described below, received from our Party Chief and fellow field survey crew. Job site specific information is uploaded to online servers daily, so it is easily accessible for the team to review and comment for each job. This position will be expected to work well remotely with all necessary equipment, as well as be able to provide support in the field as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the preparation of Subdivision Maps including Tract Maps, Parcel Maps and Records of Survey.
  • Experience with all aspects of AutoCAD C3D 2020.
  • Experience in working with PLS to analyze boundary establishment and processing field data.
  • Experience in setting up map sheets for map check including closures, title review and interpreting required easements and dedications.
  • Proficiency in the preparation of ALTA Surveys and Topographic Surveys.
  • Experience analyzing field data and converting to a final product including plotting of utility data.
  • Experience with Carlson Data collection software.
  • Experience researching all City and County data including Record Maps, tie notes, Corner Records and Improvement Plans.
  • Experience in the preparation of Submittal Packages to City Plan Checkers.
  • Experience coordinating and communicating with City and Client in the preparation of Mapping and Surveys.

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Recent field experience in California – preferred but not required.
  • LSIT or PLS – preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Minimum Position Responsibilities

  • Provide CAD support to field survey crew utilizing CAD C3D 2020.
  • Interpret survey documents from Party Chief and PLS.
  • Analyze boundary establishment and process field data.
  • Set up map sheets for map checking, including closures, title review and interpreting required easements and dedications.
  • Provide/ prepare ALTA surveys and topographic surveys.
  • Convert field survey data to final product, including but not limited to plotting of utility data.
  • Prepare submittal packages to city plan checkers.
  • Research all city and county data as it relates to record maps, tie notes, corner records and improvement plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with city and/ or client in the preparation of mapping and surveys as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
