TAIT’s environmental services include providing due diligence review for clients needing a second opinion on environmental issues of a project site. One good example of this type of service involved TAIT being contracted by a land developer to review the environmental issues at a former oil field in Southern California. TAIT Environmental Services, Inc. prepared the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) for truck parking facilities as a requirement for the Industrial Storm Water Discharge Permit. TAIT also performed employee training for monthly site inspections, and completed the storm water sampling from the outfalls at each site during the Qualifying Storm Events (QSEs). TAIT’s Qualiﬁ ed Industrial Storm Water Practitioners (QISPs) will assist the client with reporting and sampling requirements going forward.
TAIT Environmental Services, Inc. TAIT was hired by Awalt Wholesale to investigate the source of a light aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) that was discovered in a monitor well at the truck stop. TAIT employed a free product skimming system to remove as much as possible of the ﬂoating LNAPL. We also employed mobile dual-phase extraction (MDPE) to remove additional vapor- and free-phase product from the site.
Los Angeles, CA
TAIT provides monthly Designated Operator (DO) inspections at approximately 140 fuel facilities for the City of Los Angeles Department of General Services. TAIT has been repeatedly selected as the contractor to provide DO inspections for the City of Los Angeles since 2005, when the State of California regulations requiring DO inspections went into eﬀect. During remedial excavation activities at the Brea Transfer Station, a deep zone of soil impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons was discovered in the southern part of the site. TAIT subsequently assessed the extent of impacted soils, and utilized large-diameter auger borings to remove the impacted soil from the subsurface. TAIT met the client’s goal to remediate the site for future residential development, achieving site closure from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
TAIT Environmental Services has restored hundreds of Aboveground Storage Tanks across the nation for various clients. This adds years to the life of the tanks, which provide fuel for emergency generators to supply backup power for communications and other systems. This can be done at a fraction of the cost that replacing the tank would cost.
TAIT Environmental Services performed fuel system services for El Dorado County Department of Transportation (DOT) in Placerville, CA. These services included installation of fueling dispensers, a new fuel management system, tank monitoring system, AST Piping, ground level fill boxes, and a syphon line. TAIT programmed and started up all systems, in addition to training the client on new features.
Sunset Media Center is a 22-story high-rise near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street. TAIT is the civil engineer for this major site improvement project which is a collaborative effort to renovate the site’s lobby, common areas, and tenant office spaces, including energy efficiency upgrades. The largest office building in Hollywood, this center’s prime location and innovative improvements will make it a long-term valuable, prominent property.
El Segundo, CA
The DirecTV Campus in El Segundo, CA is a state of the art facility which features a number of plazas, courtyards, and even an outdoor Bocce Ball court. The office is home to 2,000 employees and is over 650,000 sq. ft. TAIT was the civil engineer for this major site improvement project which was a collaborative effort with Kilroy Realty Corporation.
TAIT was contracted to provide civil engineering services for an economic revitalization of the Mag Instrument Inc. 30-acre headquarters site located in Ontario, CA. The effort included a new fully integrated manufacturing facility which created an additional 2,400 jobs.
The Rangeview Office Campus is a state of the art office building complex located in Loveland, CO. TAIT provided a full range of civil engineering services for the project. Rangeview Building III pursued LEED Silver Certification, and Rangeview Building IV is pursued LEED Gold Certification.
Seal Beach, CA
The Pacific Gateway Business Center is a historic aerospace installation located in Seal Beach, CA. TAIT provided consulting and design leadership in the redevelopment of this iconic project.
Sundance Spas is internationally recognized as a premier spa and hot tub retailer. TAIT was hired for the engineering of their 200,000 square foot, 17 acre manufacturing facility and distribution center in Corona, CA.
Los Angeles, CA
The Harbor Gateway Business Park is one of the largest land development projects in the City of Los Angeles. TAIT was contracted by Boeing Realty Corp. to design the infrastructure for approximately 170 acres of Re-Use, which included demolition of 2.4 million square feet of the former aircraft plant, followed by the infrastructure design of 3 million square feet for retail, office, and industrial park development.
