TAIT’s environmental services include providing due diligence review for clients needing a second opinion on environmental issues of a project site. One good example of this type of service involved TAIT being contracted by a land developer to review the environmental issues at a former oil field in Southern California. Ontario, CA
TAIT Environmental Services, Inc. prepared the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) for truck parking facilities as a requirement for the Industrial Storm Water Discharge Permit. TAIT also performed employee training for monthly site inspections, and completed the storm water sampling from the outfalls at each site during the Qualifying Storm Events (QSEs). TAIT’s Qualifi ed Industrial Storm Water Practitioners (QISPs) will assist the client with reporting and sampling requirements going forward.
Fairfield, TX
TAIT Environmental Services, Inc. TAIT was hired by Awalt Wholesale to investigate the source of a light aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) that was discovered in a monitor well at the truck stop. TAIT employed a free product skimming system to remove as much as possible of the floating LNAPL. We also employed mobile dual-phase extraction (MDPE) to remove additional vapor- and free-phase product from the site.
Irvine, CA
A major grocery retailer contracted TAIT to assist in bringing their reverse logistics operations into compliance with California’s complex hazardous waste regulations. TAIT conducts on-going audits of the returned retail products at one of their Southern California Distribution Centers. TAIT’s trained hazardous waste technicians regularly conduct audits of the returned retail products, helping to classify products that are RCRA or California hazardous waste to ensure regulatory compliance.
Los Angeles, CA
TAIT provides monthly Designated Operator (DO) inspections at approximately 140 fuel facilities for the City of Los Angeles Department of General Services. TAIT has been repeatedly selected as the contractor to provide DO inspections for the City of Los Angeles since 2005, when the State of California regulations requiring DO inspections went into effect. Brea, California
During remedial excavation activities at the Brea Transfer Station, a deep zone of soil impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons was discovered in the southern part of the site. TAIT subsequently assessed the extent of impacted soils, and utilized large-diameter auger borings to remove the impacted soil from the subsurface. TAIT met the client’s goal to remediate the site for future residential development, achieving site closure from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
TAIT Environmental Services has restored hundreds of Aboveground Storage Tanks across the nation for various clients. This adds years to the life of the tanks, which provide fuel for emergency generators to supply backup power for communications and other systems. This can be done at a fraction of the cost that replacing the tank would cost.
Placerville, CA
TAIT Environmental Services performed fuel system services for El Dorado County Department of Transportation (DOT) in Placerville, CA. These services included installation of fueling dispensers, a new fuel management system, tank monitoring system, AST Piping, ground level fill boxes, and a syphon line. TAIT programmed and started up all systems, in addition to training the client on new features.
Downey, CA
The Promenade at Downey is set to become Downey’s new community gathering and tourism destination, featuring retail, dining, and entertainment with a one of a kind history. The mixed use development will feature an assortment of premiere retailers, with Wal-Mart anchoring Phase 1. TAIT is the civil engineer of record for the entire project, providing Project Management and Civil Engineering/Survey services from concept to completion.
Garden Grove, CA
This project included approximately 1/3-mile total length of street reconfiguration, improvements to an existing raised median, a new traffic signal, abandonment of existing 8-inch ACP and 12-inch DIP City water lines, installation of a 800 LF of 16-inch water line, and relocation of SCE and AT&T main distribution service lines. It required the installation of new public storm drains, sewer, and water services to accommodate a future redevelopment project along Harbor Boulevard from Palm Street to Lampson Avenue in the City of Garden Grove. Engineering services required extensive research, review, and a potholing program for the installation of the new utilities and storm drain improvements within the existing six-lane Harbor Boulevard roadway.
Pomona, CA
The project included the rehabilitation of eight arterial and collector segments of roadway throughout the City of Pomona. This rehabilitation required analysis of the existing pavement conditions, recommendation of alternate rehabilitation methods by use of recycled pavement options, upgrading of 4 roadway segments for adding new bike lanes and the analysis, and replacement of all curb ramps along the project limits.
Los Angeles County, CA
As part of a Design Build project for Golden State Water Company, TAIT provided the survey and design services for the replacement of 1,600 lineal feet of 14-inch steel water main in Normandie Avenue between Imperial Highway and 110th Street. Design engineering services included preparation of improvement plans for approximately one third of a mile total length of water main replacement, with cross connections to local streets, and new domestic water and fire services along Normandie Avenue.
Glendale, CA
TAIT provided design services for the replacement of 10,620 lineal feet of 4 and 6-inch water main in the Adams Hill neighborhood. The neighborhood is serviced by two pressure zones, and the existing water mains were 33 to 89 years old, were deteriorated and could not meet current fire flow demands. The residential streets were narrow, steep, and windy, and TAIT worked with Glendale Water & Power to determine the alignment that was the best fit for each roadway.
Huntington Beach, CA
The up and coming luxury hotel called Pasea Hotel & Spa is set to be a dominant attraction for tourists to Huntington Beach’s ocean view by the pier. Prepared by TAIT’s expert civil engineering design services, it will offer eight stories totaling in 250 rooms, all with views of the shore break, community event lawn, ballroom and meeting room space, a spa, outdoor pool, and restaurants, including one on the roof. The site will also provide a two-story subterranean parking structure to accommodate guests.
Hollywood, CA
Located on the full city block just south of Sunset and Vine, Academy on Vine is a dynamic campus featuring a 23-story residential tower, three four-story creative office buildings, retail/restaurant space, a 40,000 sq. ft. market, and entertainment venues. The residential tower includes amenities such as a fitness center and swimming pools.
