In a groundbreaking ceremony held on July 29th, the County of Orange Board of Supervisors unveiled renderings and plans in the making for the new Orange County Animal Care Facility (OCACF) located in Tustin, CA. TAIT & Associates will serve as the civil engineer for Snyder Langston, who is responsible for the construction of the new facility. The animal shelter will cover 10 acres at the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station, using design features that honor the history of the site while providing a modernized, healthy environment for our animal friends. TAIT & Associates, Inc. has joined forces with Jay Washburn, newly hired as the Director of Development Services to help grow and oversee TAIT’s Northern California office in Rancho Cordova. Jay, who brings over 20 years of industry experience, will direct strategic goals for the regional office, with an emphasis on providing comprehensive development services to national private developers, including retail, office, hospitality, multi-family, industrial and residential. “This is a strategic hire we’ve been seeking for quite some time.

ENR yearly ranks the largest publicly and privately held California design firms. We have previously made the cut on the popular publication’s list and appreciate the continued recognition of our hard work delivering vast, successful engineering design projects to our clients.
The TAIT & Associates architectural office in Boise, Idaho was lucky enough to host a few fans from Ms. Auston's Lowell Elementary kindergarten class for the day. The excited kindergarteners visited the office for an educational field trip where they cycled through work stations learning about 3-D modeling, using various instruments to measure and label the interior of a room, and drawing the front elevation of their own houses using drafting tools. To top it off, they got to dress up as field surveyors for a fun photo op to showcase their new skills. “This is by far the best field trip ever, and I’ve been teaching a long time!” Ms. Auston said of the day with TAIT.
TAIT & Associates’ Santa Ana headquarters office was honored to participate in Anaheim Union High School District’s Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) Mentoring Program in February 2016. With Tom Tait, Mayor of Anaheim and CEO of TAIT, as the host, 12 students from Anaheim High School came to visit the office to hear about what we do, professional histories and advice from TAIT engineers and associates. A seminar included speeches from Mayor Tait, Trevor Tait, Sr. Project Manager Todd Schmieder, Project Manager David Sloan, and TAIT founder Ken Tait.
TAIT’s environmental branch, TAIT Environmental Services, has recently been awarded PG&E’s certificate of “Gold Shovel Standard –for demonstrating high standards of safe excavation practices around underground facilities.” At TAIT, we pride ourselves in maintaining and magnifying a comprehensive in-house Health & Safety Program to eliminate the probability of accidents and injuries that can occur during our fueling system and environmental services. The safety of our clients, team and the public is our number one goal, which is why an award of this nature is a true honor. TAIT’s Architectural Planning Group is pleased to announce the newest Director of Architecture for the firm, Susan Dillingham. Previously dedicated as a leading Project Manager for TAIT’s architecture branch in Boise, ID, Susan has led a number of retail projects as well as helped get TAIT’s foot in the door with a few public projects in Treasure Valley. Most notable has been her strong leadership on the WinCo Foods account. Susan has effectively been our Account Manager as well as one of our key Project Managers for WinCo projects over the past several years, and under her leadership this account has grown into one of TAIT’s premier clients company-wide. These accomplishments during her past 4 years at TAIT, in addition to her 20 years of overall experience and expertise, have earned her the Director of Architecture seat.
The Building Industry Association of Southern California’s (BIASC) 55+ Housing Council recently held the 21st annual 2015 SAGE Awards, where TAIT was honored to have one of their successful projects awarded: The Azulon at Mesa Verde. This premier 55+ senior apartment development won the Project of the Year award for the Age Qualified, Market Rate category. TAIT & Associates was the civil engineer of record for the 215-unit resort style oasis, completed in 2014 in Costa Mesa, CA. “TAIT was proud to be the engineer for this innovative development.
Santa Ana, Calif., Aug. 28, 2015 -- TAIT & Associates, Inc. has won a new three-year contract as an on-call civil engineering consultant for the Port of Long Beach. The port is in the midst of a ten-year capital improvement program that covers improvements for street, water, sewer and storm drain infrastructure, which TAIT will design and manage on a task order basis during the contract.
TAIT has awarded a deserved promotion to an exemplary leader in the company, Brian Liquin, hailing from our Boise office and now a Vice President. Brian’s dedication and enthusiasm has driven the architecture focused office to great success, and his new authority is a tribute to this service and his tremendous skill set. Originally a client of TAIT’s with many years of industry experience, Brian made a memorable impression on TAIT’s leaders who first worked with him as he bestowed intelligence, kindness, and superb work ethic, traits highly valued in TAIT’s company culture. Since joining TAIT in 2006, he’s taken the reins of the Boise office as first a Sr. Project Manager, then Regional Director, managing architectural projects ranging from WinCo Foods Corporate Office Remodel Expansion in Boise to a new FBI Training Range in Anchorage, Alaska.

Tracy J. Letzring, Senior Vice President and Director of TAIT's North Dakota Office, recently passed his Professional Engineering Exam in Canada, making TAIT & Associates licensed to provide engineering services throughout Canada as well as in all 50 U.S. States. With its presence in North Dakota and Seattle, TAIT is prepared to actively pursue opportunities throughout the new region.
TAIT's softball team gets their first win of the season, bringing their record to 1-2 for the year. While the team got off to a rocky start, they really seem to be finding their stride as their first win was a lights out performance in every aspect. TAIT's Director of Entitlements, Mike McFarland, put on a show on the mound, striking out several batters on the opposing team. Team Captain and Civil Engineer, Samantha McGee, showed off her softball skills at shortstop with some spectacular plays. Overall, it was a great team win.
